Mary "Jackie" Taylor

Mary Jacquetta "Jackie" Taylor, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior and the Love of her Life, “Pete Taylor,” on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. She was born February 22, 1934, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Terrell Coats and Claudia (Spraggins) Coats.

Jackie was raised in Davidson, Oklahoma, where at the age of 17 she and Pete married. When Pete got out of the Air Force in 1954, they moved to Smithfield, Texas where they raised their family and in 1986, they moved to Weatherford.

Jackie was preceded in death by her father, Terrell Coats; her mother, Claudia Coats; her husband of 61 years, J.C. (Pete) Taylor; and her sister, Jimmie J. Coats.

Jackie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Susan Taylor of Colleyville, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Darrell Johnson of Weatherford, Texas; grandchildren, Larry Swingle, Caitlyn Taylor, and Jennifer Pool; three great-grandchildren; sister, Tommye Reed of Yukon, Oklahoma; and numerous other family members and friends.

Jackie was a member of Willow Park Baptist Church. She made a difference in many lives, both young and old. Jackie was a great prayer warrior and an inspiration to anyone that knew her. She worked for 40 years as a hairdresser until she retired. Jackie enjoyed shopping, being socially active, camping and she loved spending time with her family. She always sent cards for every occasion or for someone who just needed a pick me up. Jackie was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, Weatherford, Texas, with burial at 2:00 p.m., at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville, Texas. 

Visitation will be held Monday, January 29, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, Weatherford, Texas.
