Mary Ann Tate

July 8, 1935 — May 5, 2023

Mary Ann Tate peacefully departed this life on Friday, May 5, 2023, at age 87. She was born on July 8, 1935, in Ridgway, Pennsylvania to Charles Miller and Madeline (Cleaver) Miller.

Mary Ann, with her feisty spirit and great sense of humor, was loved by everyone who knew her. She was selfless, generous, and never met a stranger. She was a devoted Mother, Granny, and a great wife to her husband Roy for more than 50 years. Mary Ann and Roy traveled the world during Roy’s 21 years in the U.S. Air Force. Upon their retirement they traveled the country in their motor home from 2001 - 2017, visiting friends and relatives, and gambling in their favorite casinos for entertainment. They traveled to every state except Vermont and Alaska; both always wanted the same things and never tired of each other. Even though they eventually bought a beautiful home near their children, Mary Ann still loved her “little home on wheels”, and they continued to travel through 2020.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Madeline DeVittorio and Charles Miller; her sisters, Charlotte Allegretto and Betty Paul; and infant granddaughter, Micah Faith Feronti.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Roy Alvin Tate of Hudson Oaks, Texas; four children: Ava Feronti, Marlene Feronti Judy (Matthew), Sam Feronti (Ida), and Donald Feronti (Lauri); ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and the first great-great grandchild due in June 2023.

A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
