  Marvin Cecil Thomas, 87, of Denis, passed away on Sunday morning, January 6, 2008, at his residence. He was born October 31, 1920, in Anson, Texas to Jesse and Mattie Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a Forman of the Lazy Bend Ranch for 25 years, a member of the Parker County Sheriffs Posse for 40 years and also the Captain of the Parker County Sheriffs Posse in 1976. 

  Preceding him in death are his mother and father.   

  Survivors: wife, Lillie Mae Thomas of Brock, Texas; daughter, Linda Addison of Denis, Texas; sister, Margie Woodruff of Cool, Texas; brother, JG ”Buck” Thomas of Cool, Texas; one grandson, Jim Addison and wife, Cindy of Denis, Texas; one great-grandchild, Katie Lynn Addison; three step great-grandchildren, Amy Hale, Kay Hale, and Dawn Hale; four step great great-grandchildren, Zailey, Caiden, Breeanna, and Zyler. 

  Serving as Pallbearers will be Jamie French, Tommy French, Mike Thomas, Freddy Thomas, David Nash, Bill Riddle, Earnie B. Rutledge, and Don Woodruff. Remaining Sheriffs Posse will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. 

  Funeral service will be on Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, with interment in the Brock Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday. Galbreaith Pickard Funeral chapel in charge of arrangements.  

  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Solaris Hospice Group.
