Martha Ruth Hudson

  Martha “YaYa” Ruth Hudson, age 75, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 12, 2017. Martha was born September 15, 1941 in Lumpkin County, Georgia, to Clarence Sullens and Nancy Hatcher Sullens. Martha worked 21 years for Georgia Power before moving to Texas where she enjoyed raising her family and spending every spare moment laughing with her soulmate for the last 33 years. Martha and Joe’s love for each other was an example that the rest of the world can only aspire to.

  Martha is survived by her husband, Joseph Hudson; daughters, Patricia Frerich and husband Dale of Abilene, Amy Stamey and husband Mike of Griffin, Georgia, Heather Hudson of Griffin, Georgia; son, Joe Hudson, Jr and wife Nichole of Griffin, Georgia; sister, Marie Blitchington of Mt Airy, Georgia; brothers, Clarence Sullens of Cleveland, Georgia, Jim Sullens of Brookton, Georgia, Delmas Sullens of Cleveland, Georgia; 16 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren.

  Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Nancy Sullens; daughter, Pamela Elaine Shewbert; sister, Nancy Barlow; brothers, Horace Sullens and Dewitt Sullens; and baby, Sullens.

  Memorial service is to be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20, 2017 at The Church of Azle and Matt McClure will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please make a monetary donation to your favorite local charity.
