Manuela Nellie Mejia

  Manuela “Nellie” Mejia, 53, of Weatherford, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010, in a Fort Worth hospital. Nellie was born March 6, 1957 in Los Angeles, California, one of nine children to Jose Ernesto and Trinidad Abelarde Muñoz. Nellie loved family, especially grandchildren. She was a retired ESL Teacher Aide for the Weatherford Independent School District and a member of Harvest Hills Family Church.  

  She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Benito Muñoz.  

  Survivors include her husband, Sal Mejia, Jr. and daughter, Sally Reyes, both of Weatherford; son, Jose Mejia of Arlington; sisters, Cecilia Muñoz and Linda Sanchez, both of El Paso, Tillie Garcia of Chino Hills, California, and Lupe Salcedo of Chicago, Illinois; brothers, Ernie, Bobby and Dale Muñoz, all of El Paso; and three grandsons, Jose, Diego, and Samuel Reyes. 

  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, with a Rosary held at 7:00 p.m., in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
