  Manuel Wayne Pickering, age 85, of Brock, died Monday morning, May 13, 2013, in a local nursing center. Born May 23, 1927, in Blaire, Oklahoma, a resident of Parker County for many years. He retired from Bell Helicopter after 40 years. A member of the Brock United Methodist Church, Texas and Southwestern Cattlemen’s Association, a fifty year member of the Masonic Order and an endowed member of the Brock Olive Branch Masonic Lodge. Mr. Pickering was a veteran of the Marine Corp and served during World War II.

  Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Pickering of Brock; daughters, Karon Pickering of Biloxi, Mississippi and Gretchen Buckanan of Helotes, Texas; sons, David Pickering of Brock and James Pickering of Everman; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren; sisters, Glenda Atchley and husband, Tom of Wanette, Oklahoma and Nancy Pickering of Seminole, Oklahoma.

  A Masonic graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2013, in the Brock Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
