 Lowell Maxwell Yates, a cherished member of the Poolville community, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on June 3, 1936, in Louisa, Kentucky, to Clarence and Emma (Diamond) Yates, Lowell lived a life marked by dedication and service.

 He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for four years during the Korean Conflict. Following his military service, Lowell built a respected career as an ironworker, contributing his skill and strength to projects at Comanche Peak for 17 years. He later worked at JAMAK, and eventually found joy in connecting with others as a Wal-Mart greeter, a role he held for 13 years. Whether working with steel or offering a warm smile to customers, Lowell approached each chapter of his life with steadfast dedication and a genuine heart.

 A man of deep faith, Lowell was a devoted member of North Side Baptist Church. He found great joy in reading his Bible, discussing politics, and sharing thoughtful conversations with friends and family. He was known for his sense of humor and honest conversations.

 Lowell was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Georgia Yates (2017); his parents; his brother, Noble Yates; and his granddaughter, Faith Yates, who brought great joy to his life.

 He is survived by his sons, Daniel J. Yates and wife, Rhonda, and Stephen A. Yates and wife, Tammy; grandchildren, Brandon Yates and wife, Rachel, Kelley Yates, Shawn Harrington, Tylere Yates and wife, Jessica, Ashlee Yates, Katrina Yates, and Noah Anderson; fourteen great-grandchildren; and his brother, Jim Yates and wife, Cheryl.

 Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Lowell’s life. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at North Side Baptist Church, 910 North Main Street, Weatherford, Texas, with burial following at Zion Hill Cemetery.

 Lowell M. Yates will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his tireless work ethic, and the love he shared with family and friends. His memory will continue to be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
