Louis Merle Gilbert

 Louis Merle Gilbert, 95, a retired general contractor, was born on February 20, 1930 and passed from this life on December 6, 2025.

 Louis was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Patsy; son-in-law, Ron Kell; grandson, Jesse Kell; and great-grandson, Kain Payson. Also preceding him were two brothers and four sisters.

 Survivors include his sons, Danny (Ann) of Saginaw and Darrell (Sandy) of Runaway Bay, and daughter, Vicky Kell of Weatherford; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; one brother, Rufus of Decatur; plus, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of extended family and friends who loved him.

 Louis was a lifetime member of the Church of God and a member of the North Main Church of God for over 50 years. We would like to say a very special thank you to our friends, Jim and Pat Bailey for always treating our father like their own and helping in his care all these years.

 John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life."

 Mr. Gilbert will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, located at 913 N. Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas. Later that day, a graveside service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Zion Hill Cemetery, 3300 Zion Hill Road, Weatherford, Texas.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Parker County Meals on Wheels program in his honor.
