Lori R. Peacock

August 13, 1954 — December 22, 2023

Lori Rena (Bjurquist) Peacock, 69, passed from this life on Friday, December 22, 2023. Lori was born August 13, 1954, in Minot, North Dakota to Charles and Edna (Tranby) Bjurquist.

The family moved from North Dakota to St. Paul Park, Minnesota and eventually to Prescott, Wisconsin in 1958. Lori graduated from Prescott High School in 1972 and set out for a California adventure shortly thereafter. The death of her brother, David, in 1974 brought her back to Prescott. She found gainful employment at Schanno Transportation in South St. Paul where she was the Parts Manager for 16 years until she met her future husband, Blaine Peacock, on vacation with a friend at a Fort Worth dance hall. She married Blaine in 1991 in Prescott and moved to Weatherford, Texas where together they started, owned and operated a local feed store, Peacock’s Farm and Ranch.

Her life changed forever in 1992 with the birth of her son, Colton. Lori was a proud, devoted and caring mom to Colton. They both enjoyed being on the golf course together, and Lori and Ruby loved their time together watching the baseball games Colton played in over the years. She also loved her place on Price Lane and the relationships that came with it. Johnny and Ruby Peacock lived right down the road and were ever present and important figures, to both Lori and Colton, until their passing. She organically managed her personal property for a variety of domestic critters. Horses, cattle, and goats were too easy so she dabbled with emus and rheas, as well as any stray that would show up on her doorstep. Her skills in land management benefited the wild creatures too. She loved to observe and tell others about the deer, turkey, songbirds and butterflies that visited Price Lane regularly. Most recently Lori worked as a Title Manager where she used her skills researching abstracts and titles for oil and gas development. Whether it was working at home or for any of her paid jobs, no one was going to out-work Lori.

Lori will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son, Colton B. Peacock of Weatherford, Texas; siblings, Sandy (Tom) Gergen; Mike (Mary) Bjurquist; Kim (Pete) Fasbender; and Paul (Debbie) Bjurquist; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth DeHaven, Laura DeHaven, Adam Gergen, Aaron Gergen, David Bjurquist, Mitchell Bjurquist, Alec Bjurquist, Charlie Fasbender, Claire Fasbender, John Bjurquist, Tim Bjurquist, and Carrie Bjurquist; and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Edna; brother, David Bjurquist; sister, Fae DeHaven; and former in-laws, Johnny and Ruby Peacock.

A Celebration of Life open house will be held at Doss Heritage Center on February 10, 2024, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All family and friends are welcome.
