Loretta Mary Shanklin

  Loretta Mary “Lorie” Shanklin, 58, of Weatherford, passed away in a Fort Worth hospital Sunday, August 21, 2011. Lorie was born May 27, 1953, in LaSalle Peru, Illinois, to Doris Gertrude and Arthur Alfred Utz. Mrs. Shanklin earned a masters degree in special education. She served eight years as an elementary school principal and retired as a special education administrator from the Bonham ISD. She was a member of the Cowboy Gathering in Graham, Texas. 

  Survivors include her husband, Robert; sisters, Kathy Kennen and Gretchen Hook and husband, Glen; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Ware and husband, Logan and Sharon Wilson; nieces, Melody, Shauna Stransky and Cristel Hopkins; nephew, Jeff; nephews, Charly, Ernest, and Peter; and many other nieces and nephews.
 
  A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., in the Parker County Cowboy Church, 5050 FM Road 5 South, Aledo, Texas 76008. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Galbreaith Pickard in Weatherford, Texas. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
