Linda Jane Kinnamore

October 23, 1944 — June 8, 2023

Linda Jane Lowry Kinnamore, age 78, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Linda was born October 23, 1944, to Lloyd Lowry and Florence Ione Booles Lowry. She was born, raised, and lived most of her life in Weatherford, Texas. She met and married the love of her life, Donald Kinnamore, who was serving as a soldier at Fort Wolters. Together they raised their children, David and Holly. Realizing her dream of becoming a teacher, Linda began working to make that dream a reality. She received her Associate’s Degree from Weatherford College and during Don’s 22-month deployment to Okinawa, attended North Texas State University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in English and Education. She taught first and second grades for Weatherford ISD for 31 years at both Travis Elementary (29 years) and Ikard Elementary (2 years).

Her summers were spent watching her children play baseball, softball and tennis and spending quiet time reading. As a devout Christian, her favorite book was her black leather KJV Bible. She treasured her beautiful backyard that Don created with lush bamboo, caladiums and hanging baskets filled with begonias. It was here that she delighted in watching the squirrels and birds come to feed and play. Linda loved spending time with her grandchildren baking brownies and riding the Forest Park train.

Later in life, Linda suffered from dementia. This coupled with her severe diabetes robbed her of her golden years. With the undying love and devotion of her husband, Linda was able to remain at home and was provided the most loving care. She was cheerful and a joy to the end. For this and her life, we praise the Lord.

Linda was a member of Parker County Retired Teachers Association and also of First United Methodist Church.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; older brothers, Robert and William Lowry; older sisters, Lou Ann McKenzie and Marjorie Young; and younger sister, Lynn Nolte.

Loved ones who are left to cherish her memory are her husband of nearly 60 years, Don Kinnamore; son, David Kinnamore and wife, Judy; daughter, Holly Killough and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Thomas (Sarah) Killough, Caroline Kinnamore, Allison Kinnamore and John (Emily) Killough; and great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Joseph, and Elijah Killough.

There will be a Graveside Service at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 26, 2023, at Oakland Cemetery in Weatherford, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
