Leslie Monroe Sosebee

June 25, 1922 — August 22, 2007

  Leslie Monroe Sosebee, 85, of Weatherford, died Wednesday, August 22, 2007, in a local nursing center. Monroe was born June 25, 1922, in Weatherford, Texas, where he was a lifelong resident. He was a member of the North Side Baptist Church, a past member of Masonic Lodge #275, and was a veteran of the Armed Services. He retired from the U.S. Postal Services after 37 years, and was a former bus driver for WISD. 

  Monroe was preceded in death by his first wife, Lola Sosebee; brother, Floyd Sosebee; sister, Martha West; and granddaughter, Rhonda Straham. 

  Survivors: wife, Mae Sosebee of Weatherford; daughter, Doris Lawson and husband, Jesse of Granbury; son, Leslie Sosebee of Granbury; sister, Myrtle Box of Conway, Arkansas; stepson, Gary Mann and wife, Gail of Weatherford; grandsons, Mike Hargis, Shawn and Pete Mann; granddaughters, Cheryl Morrow, Dana Hargis, and Anita Yates; 17 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

  Funeral service: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 25, 2007, in the North Side Baptist Church. Interment: East Greenwood. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
