Leonard M. Newberry, 87, of Weatherford, died early Sunday morning, September 21, 2008, in a local nursing facility. Born February 12, 1921, in the Newberry Community, a resident of Parker County all his life. Leonard was a barber, farmer, owner of Newberry’s Barber Shop from 1947 to 2005, member of the New Cumberland Presbyterian. He was a Army Veteran of World War II where he served as a paratrooper.
Preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Frances Newberry; daughter, Debbie Lou Eubanks; one sister; two brothers; and one granddaughter.
Survivors: sons, Tommy Newberry and wife, Debbie of Millsap, and Rod Newberry and wife, Glenda of Weatherford; son-in-law, Larry Eubank of Weatherford; brother, Douglas Newberry of Millsap; seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2008, in the New Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with interment in the Newberry Cemetery.
