Lavena Sneed

  LaVena Sneed, 85, of Weatherford, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2010, in a Fort Worth hospital. She was born November 22, 1924, in Poolville, Texas, to George and Effie Sims. 

  LaVena was a retired baker for Weatherford Independent School District and a member of North Main Church of God. She loved to quilt, sew, and read and was a fabulous cook. 

  She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Sneed of Kerrville; sons, Ted Way of Weatherford, and Jimmy Way of Millsap; sisters, Bonnie Moore, and Ruth Haney, both of Weatherford; eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. 

  Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 8, 2010, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, interment will follow in East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.
