Larry M. Austin

  Larry Melvin Austin, 77, passed from this life on Friday, April 11, 2025. He was born on March 6, 1948, in Weatherford, Texas, to Tom and Clara (Carnes) Austin, and was raised in the community he always called home.

  Larry worked diligently as a janitor and was known for his outgoing nature and friendly spirit. He enjoyed walking around Weatherford, visiting local businesses, and striking up conversations with everyone he met. A devoted sports fan, Larry especially loved basketball, football, and cheering on the Texas Rangers. He was also an enthusiastic NASCAR follower and enjoyed the simple joy of playing Bingo.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Clara Bell Austin, and by his sister-in-law, Donna Austin.

  Larry is survived by his brother, Tim Austin and wife, Glenda, of Daphne, Alabama; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including nieces, Amy Reale and husband, Aaron, and Robin Dackman and husband, Jacob; and nephew, Chad Gouge.

  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Curtis Cemetery in Weatherford, Texas.
