Lao Mee

  Mr. Lao Mee was born March 15, 1954, to Bao Mee and Pao Beav, and passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, at the age of 71.

  Lao devoted his life to his family and his work. He was employed as a custodian with the Weatherford Independent School District, for 18 years. Alongside his wife, he was respected for his dedication and the pride he took in providing a clean and welcoming environment for students and staff. Him and his wife retired in 2021.

  A devoted Buddhist, Lao regularly attended services at the Cambodian Buddhist Temple of Dallas and Wat Lao Thepnimith of Fort Worth. His faith guided his life and shaped his quiet compassion toward others.

  In his free time, Lao enjoyed fishing and gardening. He loved watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He took pleasure in shopping and discovering special finds. Music was a constant companion in his life, and he was known for his cooking skills, especially when preparing meals and barbecuing for family gatherings.

  Lao is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ree Mee of Weatherford; son, Phan Mee (Pennie Mae Ewing); daughter, Kaysey Mee (Nestor Cuellar); granddaughters, Isabel Alexia Hernandez and Avery Nicole Hernandez; five brothers, Slieav Savayphoue, Lim Savayphoue, Tim Savayphoue, Don Savayphoue, and Dao Savayphoue; and three sisters, Yim Savayphoue, Kim Savayphoue, and Sanoy Savayphoue.

  Visitation and funeral services will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., with visitation continuing until 4:00 p.m.

  Lao Mee will be remembered for his steady presence, devotion to family, and the quiet kindness he shared with those around him.
