Kenneth Richard “Dick” Hoffman, beloved father, grandfather, brother, husband, and friend, passed peacefully from this earth on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

Born in Hartford City, Indiana, in a family of 11 siblings - including nine sisters - Dick was raised in a family that was full of affection and support for one another, a quality that he carried through his entire life.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served overseas before landing at a base in Big Spring, Texas, where he met a young woman named Glenda Farris. He had the good sense to marry her in 1963, and their love story would span for 44 years before she preceded him in death in 2007.

Dick and Glenda opened their hearts and their home twice to adopt two daughters, Mary and Rosealee, who they raised in Aledo, where the family made its forever home.

After his military service, Dick spent a career with Menasco Aerospace, followed by a career with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, from which he retired in 2019. He was known among his friends as having the highest standards of Christian values and devotion to his family.

To many of his family, he was simply known as “Pawpaw.” He never missed a chance to tell someone he loved them, rarely missed a dance recital or basketball game, and supported his children and grandchildren unfailingly as they made their way through the world.

The legacy of honor and values that defined his life continue to live on in the values of the lives he touched.

Service arrangements through Galbreath Pickard Funeral Chapel are pending.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Locks Of Love organization, which honors his late wife, Glenda, and her battle with ovarian cancer.

He is survived by his sisters, Debbie Townsend of Hartford City, Indiana, Bonnie Haney of Hartford City, Indiana, and EmmaJo Grey of Lexington, Kentucky; his daughter, Mary Getty of Dallas; his granddaughter, Marissa Getty of New York; his daughter, Rosealee Hoffman of Willow Park; his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Barrington; grandson-in-law, Jonathan Barrington; and great granddaughter, Nora Jane Barrington of Haltom City; his grandson, William Johnston of Stephenville; and countless extended family members and friends who will remember him fondly.
