Kay Olvey Crooke

March 17, 1914 — October 6, 2009

  Kay Olvey Crooke, 95, of Weatherford, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in the local hospital. Born March 17, 1914 in Lebanon, Indiana, she was a resident of Indianapolis before moving to Parker County to be closer to her daughter. Kay was a long time employee of the Town Tavern, a life member of Alpha Tau Sorority and played the tambourine for Smyrna Shrina Guild. She was a member of Christ the King Church in Indiana. Kay gave much of her time to volunteer work and community service. 

  She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband of 37 years, Kenneth Olvey; and by her second husband, Tom Crooke. 
 
  Survivors: daughter, Phyllis Walters and husband, Boats of Weatherford; sister, Jack E. Laughner of Sarasota, Florida; four grandchildren, Steven R. South and wife, Rhonda, Kenneth South and wife, Giovanna, Diane Osborn and husband, Jerry, and Shari Gray and husband, Gary; four great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
 
  Graveside service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 9, 2009, in Crown Hill Cemetery, 700 West 38th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46208. Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at 1305 E. Broad Ripple Ave., Indianapolis, Indiana 46220.
