Katelyn Elizabeth Walther, age 21, passed away on December 26, 2025, in Dallas after a 22-month battle with cancer. She faced this challenge with her typical grace, dignity, and courage. We weep because she is gone, but rejoice because she is with Jesus.
Katelyn was born on May 10, 2004, to Joseph and Amy Walther, in Fort Worth. She has always been a beautiful blessing to her family. Her unique spirit was evident from an early age. She never met a stray animal she didn’t love or an ABBA song she didn’t like. She made the world a little brighter with her beautiful smile and kind disposition. She was the type of girl who was always adamant to change her own tire, kicked it back old school with CDs in her Jeep, and had a pocket knife on her at all times.
Katelyn was proud of earning her SCUBA certification as well as her motorcycle license. In addition, she enjoyed bouldering, rock climbing, photography, travelling, four wheeling, and dancing. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
She graduated from Aledo High School in 2022. She attended Texas Tech, where she majored in Natural Resource Management. It was a good move because she met the love of her life, Kaden Bradley. In her own words, “He has shown me how to walk through life when given a crappy set of cards.” She had a strong and courageous spirit, and it did not change during the final chapter of her life. In her own words, “I am grateful that I have travelled, loved, and been loved so strongly by family and friends, and just to have done so much in my life to only be 21.” Her time here was indeed full and precious. Her attitude and heart are a testament to her character.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother and grandfather, Kenneth and Marilyn Fitzpatrick, as well as her paternal grandfather, Wallace Walther.
Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Joseph and Amy Walther of Aledo, Texas; brother, Kade Walther of Amarillo; paternal grandmother, Celeta Walther of Wichita Falls; as well as a whole host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends who were privileged enough to know Katelyn. And if you didn’t know her, we are sorry for your loss.
