Karen Foster, a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the age of 74. She lived a life filled with love and dedication.

  Born on July 27, 1951, in Asheville, North Carolina, Karen was the cherished daughter of Cordis and Evelyn (Hare) Rudd. Throughout her career, she embraced various roles, serving as the Director for the South Eastern Region for Heifer Project International, working as a real estate agent, as well as owning and operating Weathergreen, a landscape design and installation company. 

  A woman of many talents, Karen found great pride in her research project for the Desert Tortoise Reserve in the Mojave Desert in California. She was deeply passionate about horticulture, enjoyed jewelry making, and was an avid reader, all while constantly placing her family at the heart of her endeavors.

  Karen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George S. Foster; son, Cordis Foster; parents, Cordis and Evelyn Rudd; and brother, Kevin Rudd.

  She leaves behind a legacy of love through her daughter, Carrie Foster; as well as her grandchildren, Haley Fisher (Kevin), Alice Foster, Beau Foster, and Cookie Foster; and great-grandchildren, Maverick Fisher and Journey Fisher. She is also fondly remembered by her brothers, Barry Rudd (Bonnie) and Brian Rudd (Martie); sister-in-law, Silvia Rudd; and daughter-in-law, Denise Foster.

  A time of visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel staterooms, located at 913 N. Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76020.

  Karen’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her, and her memory will be celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
