Juanita L. "Nita" Shedd

  Juanita Lee Shedd, age 82, passed peacefully from this life on Monday, July 7, 2025. Affectionately known as Nita, she was born February 26, 1943, in Euless, Texas, to H.A. Jacobs and Ruby (Towles) Jacobs.

  At a young age, Nita developed a love for cooking from her grandma, "Mama T." She learned to make the best chicken and dumplings, as well as chicken-fried steak. Before her retirement, Nita worked as an electronics salesperson.

  Nita had a prized doll collection and kept a special room filled with numerous dolls displayed in cases. She especially cherished her beautiful Princess Diana doll. She also enjoyed nature, watching birds, and being surrounded by flowers. One of her greatest joys was the companionship of her beloved dog, Nikki, who adored her deeply.

  Most of all, Nita will be remembered for her Christian faith and her devoted love for Jesus.

  She was preceded in death by her parents, H.A. and Ruby Jacobs; her sister, Jeanette Holt; her brother, Mark Jacobs; and her nephews, Shane Holt and Shannon Holt.

  Nita is survived by her son, Jason Shedd and his wife, Shannon Houston; her son, Christopher Shedd and his wife, Sharon; and three grandsons, Trevor Shedd, Tyler Shedd, and Jeremy Shedd.

  She is also survived by her siblings, Barbara Alston, Charles Jacobs, Leon Jacobs, Theresa Kasinger, and Patty Roberts; as well as many nieces and nephews who were very special to her: Danette Wakefield, Darla Winfield, Kerry Martin, Angie Schollenbarger, David Alston, Deon Kisiah, Lacey Jacobs, Jessica Jacobs, Dustin Jacobs, Shawn Kasinger, Mark David, Sarah Jacobs, and Jimmy Roberts.

  A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Waterhouse Church, 1010 South Bowie Drive, Weatherford, Texas 76086.
