It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Burel Ellis. She passed from this world on July 30, 2025, but her legacy of love and family will live on. She shared her passion for reading and learning with everyone she met, opening worlds and universes to fuel the imagination.
Joyce was a devoted wife and mother, and will be deeply missed. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Virginia and Lois, and by her husband, Dan. She is survived by her two children, Jason and April, and her grandchildren.
A graveside memorial will be held at 9:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Annetta Cemetery, in Aledo, Texas. In lieu of flowers, Joyce encourages donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the American Heart Association, two charities that were dear to her heart.
