John Carter Tankursley, 79, of Weatherford, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012, at his residence. He was born June 27, 1932, in Dallas, Texas, to Dunk and Grace (Hussa) Tankursley.
John was a Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict; he retired as an engineer with the civil service and was a member of Weatherford Church of Christ. John was a retired part-time instructor for Weatherford Junior College and Tarrant County Junior College.
His brother, William Tankursley, preceded him in death.
John is survived by his wife, Zoe Tankursley; son, David Tankursley; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
