Jimmy Lewis Soules

January 31, 1945 — January 7, 2024

Jimmy Lewis Soules, 78, departed from this life on Sunday, January 7, 2024. He was born January 31, 1945, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Luther Soules and Letha (Karnes) Soules.

Ever quick with a prank or a joke, Jimmy was known for his storytelling and making everyone smile, which is why he was nicknamed “Grin-daddy” by his grandchildren. Jimmy took great pride in his family and his profession. Farming and ranching were a way of life for him. He believed in the honor and privilege of working the land and feeding people. He was a man of great integrity, character, devotion, and love, who always put others before himself. His hard work was reflected in his weather-worn hands and ruddy cheeks. He was a large man with a larger personality and heart. His favorite pastimes included driving his tractor, checking cows, and his greatest joy of all: bragging about his three grandchildren. His legacy will continue through the family he loved.

Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Linda (Allen) Soules of Aledo, TX; son and wife, Tim and Michelle Soules of Aledo; daughter, Jennifer (Soules) Alford of Brock, TX; granddaughter, Dr. Kameron Soules; grandson, T.J. Soules (currently attending Peru State College in Peru, NE); granddaughter, Mya Alford (currently attending WT in Canyon, TX); sister, Wanda Bradshaw; sister and husband, Donna Kay and Mark Mauldin; large extended family, and many friends and neighbors.
