Jim Hayden Hill

Jim Hayden Hill, age 90, was surrounded by loving family when he died peacefully in his home on November 10, 2021, in Weatherford, Texas.

Jim was born on February 22, 1931 in Parker County, Texas, to Charles Cambern Hill and Opal Lillian Hardin. Except for a couple years in his youth, he lived his entire life in Parker County and Weatherford, which his ancestors helped settle in the 1850’s.

“Daddy Jim” was a great family man and a loving father and grandfather. He married Eleanor Glynn Tison, of Quitman, GA, daughter of Joseph James Tison and Sarah Frances Warren, on September, 15, 1950 at Central Christian Church, Weatherford. They spent 56 years together until her passing in 2006.

Jim was a masonry contractor until he became a project director for Bentley-Ray and Associates, Inc. of Joshua, TX in the mid 60’s and later for Continental Church Builders, of Nashville, TN, running their Texas operations from Cleburne, TX. He retired from Continental in 1993. and began doing electrical work in and around Weatherford; not retiring for good until he reached his 80’s.

His family and friends will always remember him as a man with a strong sense of duty, which was instilled in him by the man he admired most in this world, his grandfather, George Hayden Hill. If something needed doing, he did not wait for others to do it, he did it. If anyone was in need, Jim was there with a helping hand. He served his community in many ways, including many years as a volunteer fireman for Weatherford.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor; sister Johnnie Elizabeth Hill; great grandsons Jim Hayden Hill II and Memphis Dale Richards; his sidekick, Patricia Holt, of Weatherford and numerous other family and friends.

Jim is survived by his children, James Michael Hill, his wife, Patty of Helotes, TX and her sons, Luke and Shane; son, Anthony Hayden Hill, of Weatherford, TX; daughter, Kimberly Frances Hill, of Weatherford, Texas; grandson, Jeremiah Hayden Hill; granddaughter, Mandalyn Sue Hill Richards (Josh) and her children Eathyn Brandon Hill, Jackson Glynn Richards, and Waylon Austin Richards, all of Weatherford; niece Dawn Elizabeth Beach Burke of Arizona; brother-in-law Joe Tison and wife Patsy of Cool, TX and their children, Donna, Jana and Lance.
