Jerry Robert Sportsman

  Jerry Robert Sportsman, age 65, passed from this life on Sunday, December 1, 2024. Born September 14, 1959, he was the beloved son of Jerry and Barbara (Richards) Sportsman, who have also preceded him in death. Their influence shaped the man he became, instilling in him values that he carried throughout his life. 

  Jerry worked as a mason in the construction industry and had a love of sports, including football and basketball. If you asked anyone, he was known as a pretty good heckler. He also enjoyed playing Words with Friends. He will be remembered for his warm smile and hearty laughter. 

  Jerry is survived by his son, Kyle Sportsman of Weatherford, Texas; three granddaughters, Bailey Woods, Brooklyn Sportsman, and Brittany Sportsman; girlfriend, Jennifer Parrish; cousins, and other family and friends. 

  Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas. 

  Jerry will be laid to rest beside his parents at a graveside service at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, December 6, 2024, in the East Greenwood Cemetery, in Weatherford, Texas.
