Jean Bradford Logan

  Jean Lavell Bradford was born March 28, 1931 in Floyd County, Texas, to Charlie and Beaulah Bradford. She was the youngest of 11 children. Even though her family was financially disadvantaged, she enjoyed being with her siblings. The family would pick cotton every year for extra income, but Jean said the labor was hot and hard and she didn’t like it at all! Even when she was older, she seemed the most animated when around her siblings at family reunions.

  She became Jean Bradford Logan when she married Robert Willard Logan on September 9, 1950, in a private ceremony by the pastor at First Baptist Church in Lockney, where Bob was from. Her brother Houston had to drive her there because she had no car and no driver’s license!

  Jean worked as an office clerk before the birth of their first child, Brad, in 1956, and Betty, in 1962. They moved several times, finally settling in Weatherford, Texas in the summer of 1970. Her kids were able to attend Weatherford High School all four years and the family was quite involved with Emmanuel Baptist Church.

  After 72 years of marriage, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, whom she has dearly missed. 

  She is survived by son, Brad Logan and wife, Toni; daughter, Betty Thompson and husband, Steve; grandchildren, Rachel Faeber and husband, Ben, Aaron Logan, Michelle Randolph and husband, Joey, Jordan Logan and wife, Chauncel, Gideon Logan, Rebekah Sutton and husband, Joe, Hannah Logan, Tommy Thompson, Jessica Thompson, Logan Thompson and partner, Dalton Little; and nine great grandchildren. 

  Jean moved on to be with the Lord May 18, 2026. She lived on Earth 95 years.

  A visitation-memorial service will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford, Texas.
