Jay Clement Holtsclaw, age 73, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. Jay was born on June 19, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas, to James Holtsclaw and Alice (Cox) Holtsclaw.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring as an aerospace mechanic. Following his military service, he worked for the United States Postal Service for 20 years. Jay attended the Methodist Church during his high school years and later Central Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and going on cruises, but above all, Jay cherished the time he spent with his family.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, James and Alice Holtsclaw; his sister, Katherine Johnson; and his brother, Lawrence Lynn Holtsclaw.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Holtsclaw of Weatherford, Texas; his son, Marc Holtsclaw and wife, Erin; his daughter, Vicki Berdine and husband, Brett; four grandchildren, Joshua Holtsclaw and wife, Katie, Ethan Holtsclaw, Heather Berdine, and Hannah Berdine; his great-grandson, Andrew Holtsclaw; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086.
Jay will be remembered with gratitude for his faithful service to his country and his steadfast devotion to his family. His life was one of integrity and quiet strength, and he will be deeply missed and honored by all who knew him.
