James E. Simpson

  James Edward “Eddie” Simpson, of Aledo, passed from this life on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on November 20, 1946, in Amarillo, Texas, Eddie was the son of Homer W. Simpson and Fay (Raney) Simpson.

  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, attaining the rank of Sergeant (E-5). Following his honorable service, Eddie built a career as a long-haul truck driver, retiring from Martin Freight and DonCo Transport Services. When he was not on the road, he enjoyed tending to his backyard - a simple pleasure that brought him peace and satisfaction.

  He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard "Rick" D. Simpson and John "Luther" Simpson; nephew, John "Johnny" Simpson Jr.

  Eddie is survived by his nephew, Ricky J. Simpson of Fort Worth, Texas, along with other loving relatives and friends.

  He will be laid to rest at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

  Eddie will be fondly remembered for his honorable service, his steadfast character, and the pride he carried as both a soldier and a hardworking man.
