James M. (Jim) Coats, age 80, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on September 3, 1945, in San Diego, California, to William and Ethel (Barry) Coats, Jim led a life marked by dedication, faith, and love for his family.
Jim was a skilled machinist in fabrication, serving faithfully at Goss International for 42 years, until his retirement. He had a deep compassion for animals and a great appreciation for good music. Jim is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 60 years 6 months and 28 days, Carole Coats of Mineral Wells, Texas; his loving cousins; many nieces and nephews, along with several generations of great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as many friends and loving church family.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Woodland Park Cemetery, located at 3600 South Oak Avenue, Mineral Wells, Texas 76067.
