James Hilton Yarnell, Sr., age 82, of Mason, Texas passed away in a local hospital September 18, 2008. James was born August 19, 1926, in Ballinger, Texas, to Osie and Mattie Yarnell. He served in the United States Army at the end of World War II. James was a salesman and former member of the Ballinger Lions Club. He loved football and baseball and coached little league baseball for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by wife, Jewell Yarnell of Mason, Texas; son, Jim Yarnell of Weatherford, Texas, and David Yarnell of Lubbock, Texas; brother, Joe S. Yarnell of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren, Doug Yarnell and wife, Cindy, Kali Yarnell, and Taylor Yarnell; and great grandchild, Thomas James Yarnell.
