  James Cecil Stone, age 71, of Weatherford, died Thursday morning, August 28, 2008 in a Fort Worth hospital. Born October 26, 1936 in Parker County, where he had lived all his life, he was retired Lumber Yard Forman, an Army Veteran and a police officer for the City of Weatherford during the early 1970’s. 

  Survivors: wife, Modina Stone of Weatherford; daughter, Ginger Stone of Puyallup, Washington; step daughters, Teresa Leach and Donna Smith; sons, Greg Russell Stone of Weatherford and Jeff Stone of Buckley, Washington; step son, William Smith; sisters, June White of Mineral Wells and Ilona Steele of Paris, Texas; brother, Donald Stone of San Antonio; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. 

  Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 1, 2008, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Private Interment will be in the DFW National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P. O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, Massachusetts 01202. Visitation will be 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, August 31, 2008, at the funeral home.
