James Ledon Bell

 James Ledon Bell, 92, peacefully passed away on July 24, 2026, in Weatherford, Texas, after living with dementia for many years. Jim was welcomed into heaven by his Lord and Savior.

 Jim was born on May 7, 1934, in Aubrey, Texas, to George and Opal Smith Bell. He had a wonderful childhood and was the older brother to his sisters, Quetha Jo and Jane. He attended school in Aubrey through junior high before graduating from Pilot Point High School in 1951. Jim went on to graduate from North Texas State College in 1955 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.

 After graduation, Jim joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany, where he served as a Medical Specialist. Following his honorable discharge, he became self-employed in 1961 and founded Bell Insurance Agency.

 After retiring, Jim lovingly cared for his parents until their passing. On July 9, 1964, after a two-year courtship, he married the love of his life, Yvonne Barfield McFadden. Through their marriage, he was blessed with two sons, Stuart Kim and Kevin Lee McFadden. Two years later, they welcomed their daughter, Jamie Lydon.

 Jim was very witty and a champion joke teller. He shared jokes with friends and strangers alike, making him a joy to be around. An avid book collector, he built an impressive library over the years, with his comic book collection being his favorite. He began collecting comic books when he was about five years old. Jim also enjoyed collecting stamps and coins. He was a faithful member of Eastside Church of Christ in Denton for 45 years.

 Jim was preceded in death by his parents, George and Opal Bell; his sister and brother-in-law, Quetha Jo and Dallas Lacy; his niece, Jane Elizabeth Lacy; and his brother-in-law, Walter Ray.

 He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Bell; sons, Kim (Ann) McFadden and Kevin (Rhonda) McFadden; daughter, Jamie (Clark) Cole; grandchildren, Rodney (Stephanie) McFadden, Sherry (Hank) Bentley, Kimberlyn (Ethan) Berkley, Garrett (Jenn) McFadden, Amanda (Matt) Malony, McKenna McFadden, Tyler (Jennifer) Cole, Mary-Robin (Eliot) Clerke, and Abby (Jordan) Rohlmeier; great-grandchildren, Kohen, Madelyn, and Jentri McFadden, Brantly Fithan, Riley Berkley, Zoey Berkley, Kaylen Bentley, Keldon Bentley, Hunter, Cooper, and Aubrey Cole, Levi Clerke, and Case and Cohen Rohlmeier; great-great-grandchildren, Sparrow Bentley and Zion McFadden; nephews, John (Jenny Craik) Lacy and Jim (Katherina) Lacy; and nieces, Melody Mitchell and Allison (Steve) Box.

 The family extends a special thank you to Beyond Faith Hospice in Weatherford and College Park Rehabilitation and Care Center for the exceptional love and care they provided.

 A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel, 4941 I-20 Frontage Road, Willow Park, Texas 76087. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the same location. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park, 3801 Roselawn Drive, Denton, Texas 76207.
