Jack Weldon Hatter, age 86, of Weatherford, died Saturday morning, October 24, 2009, at his residence. Born November 25, 1922 in Willow, Oklahoma, a resident of Parker County for several years. He was a retired farmer, rancher and local contractor, member of the North Main Church of Christ and he loved to golf, hunt, play forty two and dominoes.
Mr. Hatter was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Marines. During his third tour, Jack was missing in action in Iwo Jima and declared dead for a year. He deservingly was awarded a purple heart with two stars.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Hatter; daughter, Brenda Craun; and grandson, Randal Patrick McGee.
Survivors include wife, Johnie Hatter of Weatherford; two daughters, Paula Beck of California and Candace McGee of Arizona; two sons, Jack R. Hatter and Terry Hatter both of California; brother, Ed Hatter of California; 10 grandchildren, and12 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2009, in the North Main Church of Christ, with interment in the DFW National Cemetery.
