Jack Russell Haile

  Jack Russell Haile peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the age of 97, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. 

  Born on December 4, 1928, in Hamilton, Texas, Jack was the son of Cubby Haile and Florence (Simpson) Haile McKandless. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, attaining the rank of Sergeant. 

  Jack dedicated 33 years of his life to working as a Payroll Clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in Fort Worth before retiring in 1989. Beyond his professional career, he had a passion for farming and gardening, and a keen interest in collecting antiques such as salts, hammers, old farm equipment, and vintage signs. Above all, Jack cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often delighting them with rides on his tractor and 4-wheeler. 

  He is lovingly survived by his wife of 68 years, Gloria Joan Haile of Weatherford, Texas; his daughter Juliann Wisdom and her husband Mike; his son Russell Haile and his wife Kim; grandchildren Emily Thurman and her husband Zach, Alaina Wisdom, Alyssa Cargill and her husband Tucker, Lee Wisdom, Chelsie McMillan and her husband Donald, Thomas Haile and his wife Harleigh, Nicole Ball and her husband Christian; great-grandchildren Makenna, Emberlynn, Campbell, Truett, Hazel, Faith, Jamie, Hunter, Chase, and Ryatt; and many nieces and nephews who he loved as much as they loved him. Jack’s enduring spirit and love for family will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. 

  Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, in Weatherford, Texas. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 21st beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel with interment following the service at Annetta Cemetery in Annetta, Texas, with military honors.
