J. G. “Buck” Thomas, 81, of Cool, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2010. Buck was born July 1, 1929, in Anson, Texas, to Mattie Myrtle and Jesse Dewitt Thomas.
Buck was a member of the Parker County Sheriff Posse for almost 40 years. He was a farmer and rancher in Parker County.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Evelyn Thomas in 2001.
Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne Jones and husband, Johnny of Cool; son, Tegun Thomas and wife, Dona of Longview; sister, Margie Woodruff; four grandchildren, Cody Jones and wife, Candy, Daniel Jones and wife, Shannon, Angela Hohmann and husband Joseph and Tabitha Thomas; and four great grandchildren, Chris Jones, Ethan Hohmann, Jesse Jones and Gabriel Jones.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, at Holders Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Holder Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
