J. B. (Daddy-Papa) Stanford

  J.B. (Daddy-PaPa) Stanford went to join the Heavenly band and choir Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at his residence. He was born March 5, 1921, in Coffee County, Alabama, to Cecil and Sally Stanford. He was a mechanic, a United States Army veteran and a member of Horseshoe Bend Baptist Church. J.B. loved to play the guitar and sing as well as golf, fish, and bowl in the bowling league with his wife, Thelma Juanita Stanford. 

  He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and a son-in-law, Donald Stokely. 

  J.B. is survived by his wife of 69 years, Thelma Juanita; daughters, Judy Stokely of Weatherford, Brenda Knight and husband, David of Clifton and Vicki Gonzalez and husband, Jose of Weatherford; sons, Steve Stanford and wife, Cynna, and Marty Stanford and wife, Garlanda, all of Weatherford; a passel of grand, great and great great grandchildren, or as he said “my football team and cheerleaders.”

  Service:10:30 a.m., Saturday, at Galbreaith Pickard with Reverends Brad Collins and David Knight officiating. Interment: Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Galbreaith Pickard in charge of arrangements.
