Horrace “Pete” Hargis passed away January 27, 2013. He was preceded by his wife of 56 years, Audrey Hargis. Pete was born August 14, 1922 to William and Beaulah Hargis in Fort Worth, Texas. Horrace was a member of the 38th Bomb Group the “SunSetters”, 405th Squardron, the Green Dragons. He was an exceptional pilot and after he retired from the military, he loved working on his ranch and working and raising his cattle and spending time with his wife of 56 years. Mr. Hargis also belonged to the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. Survivors include: daughter, Caryl Woolard and husband Bobby of Alvarado, Texas, son, Daryl Hargis and wife Tish, Sister, Bernita Gordan and husband Bill of Fredericksburg, Texas, brothers, Melvin Hargis of Mississippi, Bobby Hargis of Everman, Texas, Grandsons Brian and wife, Christene and Aaron Hargis, one great granddaughter, Mia.
A graveside service will be held at Landreth Cemetery at 11:00 am,
Friday, February 1, 2013.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6_8
PM at the funeral home.
