Hervy L. Martin

Hervy L. Martin, 70, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Hervy was born December 11, 1953, son to the late Woodrow Martin and Sheila (Bearden) Martin.

Hervy began his career in the electrical industry in 1973, eventually becoming a lineman with Texas Electric. Working for A&M Extension Service in Safety, he was always focused on keeping those around him safe for both the working field and daily life. Hervy also worked for the City of Weatherford, in the electric department and then worked his way up to risk manager, which was his title for approximately 10 of the 18 1/2 years that he worked for the City. He will be remembered for his passion and heart to look out for others.

Hervy was a member of The Gathering at Adell church, and enjoyed fishing and catching bass that he was proud to show off in photos. He could be found tinkering in his shop in his spare time where he was always building something. Hervy enjoyed grilling for family and friends, and he also enjoyed yard work; he created masterpieces of flowerbeds and endearingly referred to Beverly as the "weeder" - if he created it, she would weed it. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Hervy was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Chet Burdett.

Hervy is survived by his wife, Beverly Erica Martin of Weatherford, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Erica and Brett Payne, and Nikki and Ari Shojaiee; four grandsons, Micah, Owen, Asher, and Silas; sister, Vickie Burdett; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Carole Martin; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and other loving family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel, 4941 I-20 Frontage Rd, Willow Park, Texas 76087; officiated by Jeff Hopkins. A time of visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel, at 1:00 p.m.

Following the service, a procession will make its way to Zion Hill Cemetery, in Weatherford, Texas, for burial.
