Herbert "Weggie" Weghorst

  Herbert "Weggie" Weghorst, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, June 9. He was born in Brenham, Texas on February 24, 1918. He graduated from Brenham High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Weggie retired from PPG Industries after 37 years of loyal service. 

  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mozelle Weghorst. Also surviving are his children, James Weghorst of Euless, Merilyn Vantine of Weatherford and Sherilyn and John Hooks of Houston. His grandchildren, Mandye and David Bowers of Fort Worth, Brad and Carol Vantine of Weatherford, Scott Vantine of Weatherford, Greg Weghorst, Stephen Weghorst, Mark Weghorst and Stephanie Weghorst; and great-grandchildren, Christopher and Aaron Bowers and Hayley and Mia Vantine also survive him. 

  He is also survived by his sister, Lora Stegemueller, of Brenham, Texas. 

  Visitation will be Thursday, June 11, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be held Friday, June 12, at 2:00 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1500 Ball Street, Weatherford, Texas.
