Helen Young

  Helen Young, 95, of Weatherford, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2006, at her residence. Born July 19, 1911, in Mills, New Mexico, she was a resident of Parker County for many years. Helen was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church of Millsap, enjoyed quilting and will be remembered for the smile she always shared with others. 

  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Opal McGrand and husband, A.G. “Jake” Young, Sr. 

  Helen is survived by her daughters, Ronda Walden and husband, Jerry of Garner and Christine Simpson of Jacksboro; sons, Ray Jones and wife, Mary of Goliad, Arvie G. Young, Jr. and wife, Patsy of Denton, William Young and wife, JoAnn of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Andrew J. Young of Millsap; sister, Margaret Bradberry of Zephyr Hills, Florida; 30 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren. 

  Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 18, 2006, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Interment: Poe Prairie Cemetery. Galbreaith Pickard in charge of arrangements.
