Harold Gene Keen (Pop), 79, of Brock, passed away peacefully at home with loved ones and his dog on June 10, 2026. Gene was born July 29, 1946, to Jack and Hanna Keen. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Gene was an aircraft mechanic for 50 years. He began his career repairing helicopters that were shot down in Vietnam, working to get them back to the troops as soon as possible. This led to working on jets at General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin for 41 years before retiring in 2017. Gene was an avid gardener, fisherman, hunter, and tinkerer of many things. He encouraged all to "have a Coke and a smile."
Gene was married to Linda for 59 years after a blind date set up by friends. They had three daughters, Gina, Shelly, and Anna. Gene and Linda lived in her hometown of Brock for most of their marriage, where they were surrounded by family and friends on any given day. Gene was a member of Brock Methodist Church for 60 years. He also served Parker County as a volunteer fireman for five years.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Hannah; his first-born daughter, Gina Keen; his granddaughter, Georgiana Baldwin; his brothers, Jackie Keen and William Keen; his sister, Barbara Ann Beck; and his mother-in-law, Willie Jean Hull, and father-in-law, Earl Henry.
Gene is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his daughters, Anna Baldwin and Shelly Burns (Bobby); his grandchildren, Levi Baldwin, Zachary Baldwin, Logan Hansen, Billy Hartman (Harlie), Heather Burns, and Randy Burns; his great-grandchildren, Townes Hartman, Rosie Hartman, Brayden Burns, and Riley Burns; his sisters, Kathy Tankersley, Linda Ames, and Sue Stockard; his sisters-in-law, Kay Cole (Myron), Shirleen Moon, and Wilma Parker; his brothers-in-law, Kent Hull, Joseph Hull (Anush), and Harlan Hull (Dena); numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins he adored; and his lifelong friend of 75 years, Ronnie Dunn, who married into the family at the age of 18 and helped Gene and Linda elope, along with his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Dunn.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at Brock Methodist Church in Brock, Texas, with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. and the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery, with a meal afterward at Brock Methodist Church.
