Hal Townsend, 77, of Fort Worth, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2010, in a Fort Worth care facility. Born February 4, 1933, in Alto, Texas, he was a long time resident of Tarrant County. Hal retired from Bell Helicopter in 1998 after 34 years. He was a machinist and a tool application engineer. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Hal was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Hobson and Ethel Mae Rogers Townsend, and two sisters, Wenona Skinner and Beulah Faye White.

Survivors: wife, Fern Townsend of Fort Worth; daughters, Pamela Simpson and husband, Baxter of Virginia, and Jeanne Shipley of Michigan; brother, Don Townsend of Weatherford; sisters, Tommy Doris George of North Richland Hills and Ann Townsend of Tennessee; grandchildren, Donyel Simpson of Weatherford, Stephanie Simpson-Potter of Maryland, and Travis Hal Simpson of Virginia; and great grandchildren, Collin and Callie Simpson-Potter.
Graveside: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 16, 2010, at the Annetta Cemetery. Visitation 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
