Gerald "Jerry" Walker

  Gerald "Jerry" Stanley Walker, a cherished soul, departed this world on December 25, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on September 4, 1943, in Weatherford, Texas, Jerry was the proud son of Joe and Rosa Lee Walker. A dedicated business owner, he devoted over twenty years to running the local farmer’s market, contributing to the community he loved.

  Jerry had a passion for the outdoors, particularly deer hunting, and enjoyed sharing his hobby with his loved ones. He also found joy in fellowship while playing dominoes at the American Legion with many treasured friends. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, where was saved and baptized in adulthood.

  He leaves behind his beloved wife, Lisa Walker; his brother, Roy Walker; and his cherished children: Joel Walker and his wife, Tammi, Jerry Lee Walker and wife, Amy, Jennifer Butcher and husband, Corey, and stepdaughter, Markia Justice. Jerry's legacy continues through his adoring grandchildren: Joel Walker, Jr., Molly McCullough and her husband, Travis, Jessica Zamarron and her husband, Chase, Anna Ramirez and her husband, Elmer, Paige Tighe and her husband, Dan, Abby Hopper and her husband, Trevor, Nathan Sykes, Brittni Stanley and her husband, Aaron, Brandi Carey, Brooklyn George and her husband, Jack, Anden Butcher, and Quinn Butcher. He was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life: Carter, Trace, Grant, Lydia, Miles, Caden, Camden, Graci, Gage, Bennett, and Campbell.

  Jerry is reunited in spirit with his parents, Joe and Rosa Lee Walker; his wife of 52 years, Janice Smethers Walker; and his dear siblings, Herschel Walker, Kenneth Walker, Pauline Hogg, Mildred White, Joe Bob Walker, and an infant sister.

  A visitation for friends and family will take place on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford, Texas. A funeral service will honor Jerry's memory on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at Beulah Baptist Church in Millsap, Texas, followed by his burial at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

  Jerry Walker will be remembered not only for his contributions to his community but also for the profound love he shared with his family and friends. He leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
