Gerald Thomas Ragle, age 92, departed from this life on Friday, May 15, 2026.Gerald was born on January 19, 1934, at home on a farm in the Dicey community to Tom Ragle and Ida (Jackson) Ragle. He attended a one-room schoolhouse in the same community and was baptized in a stock tank in 1943, a reflection of the faith that remained important throughout his life. He was a longtime member of Hilltop Family Church in Springtown.

After leaving the farm, Gerald began driving trucks and, in 1960, started buying trucks of his own and building trucking companies. The largest company he owned was Federal Freight Systems in Texarkana. Through hard work and determination, he built a successful career in the trucking industry.

Gerald was known as a wonderful storyteller, and nearly every conversation led to one of his memorable stories. He would often chronicle entertaining stories of his childhood, his life on the farm, and of the travails of his trucking career. He loved family gatherings, enjoyed bowling in his younger years, and in later years could often be found at Howell's Western Cafe, in Springtown, where he was always welcomed among friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Morgan, the mother of his children; second wife, Nina Snow; third wife, Betty Moreau; daughter, Glenda Faye Mires; stepchildren, Deborah Benavides, Doug Snow, and Donald Snow; parents, Tom and Ida Ragle; brothers, Theron Ragle and Morris Ragle; and sister, Lela Mae Watson.

Gerald is survived by his son, Jerry K. Ragle; stepchildren, David Snow, Darrell Snow, and Sharon Robinson and husband Ronald; son-in-law, Larry Jackson and wife, Darlene; grandchildren, Tom Ragle and wife Julia, Levi Ragle and wife Lyndsey, Erik Ragle and wife Veronica, Melanie Ragle and husband Ken, B.J. Mires, Lee Mires, and Dakotah Mires; great-grandchildren, Ruby, Violet, and Jaxson; by his eldest sister, Dorothy Shields; and several nieces and nephews.
