Georgie Ruth Haney, 87, of Weatherford, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at her residence.
Funeral service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Center Point Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
Ruth was born December 19, 1929, in Parker County, Texas, to George and Effie Short Sims. She was a homemaker and a devoted member of Center Point Baptist Church. Ruth enjoyed crafting and crocheting, making blankets, placemats and coffee cup coasters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Belinda Porco; son, Carroll Wayne Haney; and a sister, Laviena Sneed.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 67 years, B.H. Haney; sister, Bonnie Moore; and numerous extended family members.
