George Ray Hill, 81, of Weatherford, died July 01, 2008, at his residence. He was born June 16, 1927, in Madill, Oklahoma, to Walter and Ollie Hill. He was a rancher and worked for Carter Ivy Hardware, a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Tahoka, Texas. George was good at making bird houses and was an excellent carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jess, Dave, and Andrew; sisters, Ruth and Jean.
Survivors include wife of 59 years, Patsy Hill, Weatherford; daughter, Kathy Goodwin, Benbrook; sons, Ray Hill of Wichita Falls, and Donny Hill and wife, Melinda, Weatherford; grandchildren, Monica Campbell and Trevor Hill; and great granddaughter, April Campbell; sisters, Margie Massey and husband, H.L., Ella Baker, and Wanda Beaty and husband, Armon; and numerous other relatives.
Services will be Friday, July 4, 2008, at 10:00 a.m., at Greenwood Community Cemetery, visitation Thursday, July 3, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Memorial may be made to a charity of choice.
