G. P. (Tommy) Thompson

  G. P. (Tommy) Thompson, age, 89, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013, in Weatherford, Texas. A memorial service will be held October 8, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Inurnment will follow at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, at 1:30 p.m.

  Tommy was born September 18, 1924, in Dallas, Texas, to Marion and Lucille Thompson. He was a longtime resident of Weatherford, Texas. Tommy was in the Navy during World War II. He married the love of his life, Patricia Pate on September 29, 1956, in Denton, Texas. Tommy managed the supply resources for Bell Helicopter for 26 years.

  He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Patricia Thompson of Weatherford, Texas; daughters, Cheryl Durazo and husband, Victor of El Paso, Kathy Brown and husband, Mark of Weatherford, Texas; son, Bruce Thompson formally from Honolulu, Hawaii now residing in Weatherford, Texas; six grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces; and sister, Emma Jean Linsteadt and husband, J D of Commerce, Texas.

  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Becky Jean Munoz; parents, Marion and Lucille Thompson; sister, June Evelyn Beck; and brother, Franklin Clinton Thompson.
