Freddy Odell Sears, 81, of Poolville, passed away February 2, 2017. He was born January 22, 1936, in Whitt, to John Ertis and Ozlla (Hinshaw) Sears. Freddy married Mary Opal Poynor on December 23, 1958 in Weatherford. He served three years in the United States Army. Fred was retired from Poolville ISD after 27 years of faithful service as bus driver and maintenance man (“The best job I ever had”).
He loved fishing, hunting, camping, gardening and his chickens, cats and dogs. Life will not be the same without him.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill and John; and grandson, Daniel.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; three sons, Shannon, Tim and Doug; four daughters, Kathy Martin (Les), Lacey Stroud (Ron), Jeanie Edwards, and Patty Sain (Rickey); grandchildren, Chad (Jaclyn), Chase, Danielle, Murphey (Eugene), Kaden, Clay, and Landrey; and great-grandchildren, Grayson, Garin, Harley, Hayden, Ellason, and Nash.
Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday afternoon, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, at Poe Prairie Cemetery in Millsap.
