Forrest Craig Thomas

  Forrest Craig Thomas, 76, of Hunt, Texas, passed away on May 4, 2025. Craig Thomas, son of Owen and Avis Thomas, and loving husband of Deanna Lee Thomas, passed away peacefully at his home in Hunt, Texas.

  He is survived by his wife, Lee; his sister, Geraldine; his son, Forrest (wife, Michyo); his two beautiful grandchildren, Elias and Sakura; his niece, Kelly (husband, Ryan); great-nieces, Sydney and Shelby; and numerous cousins who thought the world of him.

  Mr. Thomas was raised on a farm in Millsap, where he developed a strong work ethic through raising peanuts, chickens, and cattle.

  Craig served in the United States Air Force and retired from the Air National Guard out of Ellington Base as a Chief Master Sergeant after 33 years of service as a Tactical Maintenance Aircraft Craftsman on F-15 and F-16 fighter jets. Those jets were his life.

  Craig and Lee moved to their beautiful Hill Country home in Hunt, Texas, where they enjoyed sitting on the back porch watching critters. Craig enjoyed traveling as much as possible. He also loved taking long hikes with his wife and his dog, Gusto.

  During Mr. Thomas’ final days, even though he no longer recognized Ms. Thomas visually, he still knew her voice. Upon hearing it, a smile would light up his face - a clear sign that he recognized his beloved soul mate. Ms. Thomas was truly the love of his life, his angel. The family acknowledges how much she cared for him and how lost they would have been without her devoted support. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

  A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at Fairview Cemetery, 2400 Fairview Road, Millsap, Texas 76066. Friends and family are invited to gather to pay their respects and celebrate Craig’s life.
